Mark Critzer’s Journey in the Cleaning Industry
Mark Critzer began his career in the early 1990s, working as a technician at Andrews Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Maryland. After two years of gaining foundational experience, he sought to expand his expertise, leading him to Normandy Carpet Care, a major company servicing Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. As a Crew Leader, Mark earned multiple industry certifications through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC), deepening his knowledge of advanced cleaning and restoration techniques. His journey continued in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he secured a management position at Sano Steam, the largest cleaning and restoration company in the area. For nearly four years, Mark gained invaluable experience overseeing operations, mastering high-level sanitization and restoration processes.In 2006 Charleston became home after falling in love with the city’s charm and warmth. He joined Rainbow Custom Floors as a senior technician where he stayed for 7 years. In 2014 he decided it was time to start his own business and Oceanside Steam Cleaning was born.
